🌟 Members of the Month: Aimee & Zac 🌟

Aimee and Zac joined Gym 707 just over 1.5 years ago — and they’ve been lifting, laughing (at block runs 😵‍💫), and levelling up ever since.

👟 Why they started:
Aimee wanted to prioritise her physical and mental health, while Zac was looking to feel better, get stronger, and connect with like-minded people after moving to Rozelle.

💥 What keeps them coming back?
The structured programs, the welcoming culture, and how good it feels post-workout. As Zac puts it, “It’s always a good time and makes me actually want to show up.”

🏋️‍♀️ Favourite workouts?
Aimee loves strength training (but really hates block runs). Zac is a deadlift guy through and through — burpees? Not so much.

🔥 Proudest achievements:
Aimee’s cardio has skyrocketed despite her hill run aversion — “Seeing my endurance improve makes me super proud!”
Zac is stoked with his chin-up progress and how his confidence has grown inside and outside the gym.

🚨 Coach Dale’s 9 Pull-Up Tips! 🚨

1️⃣ Grip Matters – Build grip & Hang strength through Dead Hangs.
2️⃣ Mix Up Your Grip – Try overhand, underhand, and neutral grips for variety.
3️⃣ Engage Your Scapula with Scap Pulls – Start with shoulder blades down and back for a strong pull.
4️⃣ Activate Your Lats – Think about driving elbows down with your lats, not just your arms.
5️⃣ Core Engagement – Tighten your core with a hollow shape to prevent swinging.
6️⃣ Full Range of Motion – Don’t cheat—fully extend at the bottom and get your chin over the bar.
7️⃣ Use Negative Reps – Slow down your descent to build strength.
8️⃣ Add Volume – Consistency is key; do more sets with fewer reps to build endurance. Train x3-4 a week
9️⃣ Use Assisted Pull-Ups with band/machine – Start with assistance and gradually reduce it as you get stronger.
