He Ran through the Thredbo Valley from Jindabyne to Thredbo, via Charlotte’s Pass, Guthega, Perisha, and Eagles Nest
24 hours 47 minutes straight, 162km, with 5000m of elevation gain ⛰️

🧠 BMR & TDEE — The Basics You Need to Know
Ever wondered how many calories your body actually needs each day? Understanding BMR and TDEE is where smart training and nutrition begin 👇
🔥 BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)
The number of calories your body burns at rest—just to keep you alive.
Think: breathing, organ function, staying alive mode.
⚡️ TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure)
Your BMR + all movement (training, work, steps, even fidgeting).
This tells you how many calories you really burn in a day.
👉 Why they matter:
• Helps you set accurate calorie targets
• Makes fat loss or muscle gain more predictable
• Prevents under-eating or over-eating
• Gives you a personalised plan—no guessing
🧮 How to calculate:
• BMR → Use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation (most accurate)
• TDEE → Multiply BMR by your activity level (from sedentary to very active)
When you know your numbers, you can train with purpose, fuel like an athlete, and hit your goals faster 💥

Macronutrients - a key component of FUEL 🏃♂️⚡️
But what are they? What do they do for your body? And how much do you need?

Builds and repairs muscle, supports recovery, and keeps you fuller for longer.
👉 Aim for 1.4-2.2g per kg of bodyweight per day (aim for the higher end if you’re training hard or looking to loose weight).
⚪️ Carbohydrates
Your body’s primary energy source, especially for endurance, strength and high-intensity training.
👉 Aim for 3-7+g per kg of bodyweight depending on your training and overall energy requirements (Keto or Low carb diets will typically be less).
⚫️ Fats
Essential for hormone health, joint health, and long-lasting energy.
👉 Aim for 20–35% of total calories from fats.
📌 Why it matters
Getting your macro balance right = better energy, meeting your weight loss or muscle gain goals, faster recovery, and stronger performance in every session.
